Who We Are

Since 1976, the Montgomery County Public Defender has provided effective legal representation to citizens accused of criminal conduct that can result in a loss of freedom. We provide these legal services to all persons and base qualification decisions solely on economic status.

Led by Theresa G. Haire, the office utilizes a holistic defense model designed to achieve better outcomes for our clients while still zealously protecting their fundamental rights, liberties and dignities.
